Due to the international nature of internet, the Uosukainen Family Society wish to serve also those incapable of understanding the Finnish language by offering this short explanation of the Society and its activities on these webpages.

The Uosukainen Family Society was founded in October 2000, and its name and regulations became official in the family meeting 2002 in the Haikko Mansion in the vicinity of Porvoo, one of the oldest cities in Finland as it was founded at the 15th century. The roots of the Uosukainen family reach back to the 16th century Karelian Isthmus, to Valkjärvi parish where the first ancestor of the family, Martti Uosukainen, was born approximately 1579. No exact information about his father or other ancestors has not yet been found.

These webpages provide information on the activities of the Uosukainen Family Society, with such information as members of the board of directors as well as of different products with the coat of arms of the society. Also information on the research of the family is provided as well as the regulations of the Society. All information is provided in Finnish, the official language of the home country of the Society. In case more information in English becomes necessary, the board of directors will make decisions on the matter. Until that, information can be obtained from the members of the board (hallitus). Mail can also be sent to the webmaster to be forwarded to the members of the board.

The Uosukainen Family Society greets all the visitors with the Karelian aforism meaning ‘welcome back” : Tuutha sie vastakii”.
